I viewed the situation that we were contracting Joe Jackman and the person used I considered they were not subcontractors and was a matter between them. …. Q. As they [Jackman’s men] were working on their own were any checks made as to the insurance they held? A. I knew that Joe Jackman had public liability, as for other insurance for the people that worked for him, it was a matter between he and them.”
