MRS B PINNINGTON v 1) THE GOVERNING BODY YSGOL CRUG GLAS SCHOOL 2) CITY & COUNTY OF SWANSEA [2001] UKEAT 1500_00_0204
[1]APPEARANCES For the Appellant PATRICK GREEN (of Counsel) Mrs J Watson Bramble House Hook Nr Goole North Humberside DN14 5NE MR RECORDER LANGSTAFF QC We have before us a Preliminary Hearing in a proposed appeal by Mrs Pinnington against the Governing Body of her former school in Wales, and the City and County of Swansea, who were the local education authority.[2]It is sufficient to say that without expressing any view as to the ultimate chances of success, we have formed the view that there is a properly arguable appeal on the grounds set out at paragraphs 6(a)–(h) in an amended Notice of Appeal which Mr Green has presented to us this morning. We should note that Mr Green appears here, pro bono, instructed by the bar pro bono unit and the work that he has done is testament to the quality of the representation and thought that they produce. We thank him for it.[3]It is not necessary to say anything further, save that, the hearing will, we think, take no more than ½ a day, category C for listing purposes. Skeleton arguments 14 days in advance of the hearing together with 3 copies of any authorities to be relied upon.
