“52. In my judgment, it is implicit in the wording of the section, and in the common law authorities which preceded the wording, that in order to take advantage of the exceptions given by the statute, the purpose for entering an appearance or taking steps must be solely for all or any of the purposes set out in the section. That is, indeed, the force of the phrase “the person shall not be regarded as having submitted to the jurisdiction of the court by reason only of the fact that he appeared for any one of the following purposes”
