Nursing and Midwifery Council v Lastauskas [2012] EWHC 2521 (Admin)
[1]The applicant applies for an extension of the interim suspension order made on 14 September 2011 under Article 31(8) of the Nursing and Midwifery Order 2001 for a period of four months from 13 September 2012. The respondent is not present or represented, but has been informed of the present application.[2]Having read the witness statement dated 2 August 2012 of Christopher Pellowe, a case officer in the Fitness to Practise Directorate of the Nursing and Midwifery Council with the conduct of this case, and the exhibits attached thereto, I am satisfied that the interim suspension order should be extended to 4pm on 12 January 2013 on the grounds that it remains necessary to protect the public and it is otherwise in the public interest.[3]The respondent has permission, on giving three days' written notice to the applicant, to apply to the court to vary or discharge this order.[4]There will be no order for costs.
