"To the extent that the Respondent did not handle this matter properly and did not keep her professional body fully informed and in particular largely ignored letters addressed to her, the Respondent was in this matter the author of her own misfortune. "
"If it is necessary to commence disciplinary proceedings against you, these will be dealt with by way of a public hearing at the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal. In previous cases the Tribunal has imposed fines of between£1,000 and£2,500 plus costs; in one matter a fine of£2,500 was imposed for failure to pay an award of£250 . In addition the Tribunal will make an order under Paragraph 5. Any order made against you by the Tribunal would make the issue of your next practising certificate subject toSection 12 of the Solicitors Act 1974 and would entitle the Office to impose an immediate condition on your current certificate."
