“Where a constable has reasonable cause to believe a child would otherwise be likely to suffer significant harm he may remove the child to suitable accommodation...” and so on. “As soon as reasonably practicable after taking a child into police protection the constable shall inform the local authority...” - although they know all about it. “No child may be kept in police protection for more than 72 hours.”
