REASONS
[1]The contract between the claimant and the respondent (which gave a start date of 1 January 2023) contained a Governing Law clause, which conferred jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts.[2]The claimant claims the sum of €7,216.76, representing four months’ unpaid wages.[3]In correspondence, Mr Medushkin originally conceded the sum was due. He now takes the position that due to the claimant using a different surname and due to tax matters in Spain, he disputes the sum is due.[4]In those circumstances, where the respondent has conceded the sum was due to the claimant and that the more recent objection does not relate to the sum due, Judgment was granted in the claimant’s favour for the sum of €7,216.76.
