JUDGMENT
[1]The respondent failed to comply with its duties under section 188 of the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992 by failing to consult properly or at all with the claimant regarding proposed redundancies.[2]The claimant is entitled to a protective award for such failure.[3]The claimant was informed on 20 September 2024 that he was being made redundant with immediate effect along with more than 20 other employees.[4]The period covered by the protective award is 90 days from 20 September 2024 to 19 December 2024.[5]The claimant’s weekly wage was £1,286.54 and the amount of the protective award is £16,495.89.
