JUDGMENT
Employment Tribunals Rules of Procedure 2024 – Rule 22[1]The claim was issued in the Leeds Employment Tribunal on 1 April 2025. The respondent has failed to present a valid response on time. The Employment Judge has decided that a determination can properly be made of the claim, or part of it, in accordance with rule 22 of the Rules of Procedure.[2]The claimant was employed by the respondent as an Events Manager. The claimant was dismissed by the respondent by reason of redundancy and the effective date of termination was 7 December 2024.[3]The claimant was contractually entitled to one month’s notice. The claimant was dismissed without notice and the respondent must pay the gross sum of £4,583.33 to the claimant in respect of breach of contract (notice pay).[4]The respondent shall pay to the claimant the sum of £3,908.76 being the outstanding sum owed to the claimant under the claimant’s contract of employment in respect of reasonable expenses incurred by the claimant in connection with their employment which were notified to the respondent, but were not reimbursed in breach of contract.[5]The claimant was dismissed by reason of redundancy and is entitled to a redundancy payment of £3,150.00, which has been calculated as follows: £700 (weekly cap on a week’s pay applies) x 1.5 x 3 years.[6]The total gross sum due to the claimant is therefore £11,642.09. The respondent is ordered to pay the sum due to the claimant on or before 25 August 2025.
