JUDGMENT

[1]The respondent having failed to file a response to the claim, judgment is given for the claimant in relation to her complaints of:(a) discrimination on grounds of sex; and(b) unlawful deduction from wages.[2]A hearing shall be listed to consider the appropriate remedy in connection with each complaint, together with suitable directions to prepare for that hearing. The respondent has the right to be informed of the hearing and may take part to the extent permitted by the Employment Judge.[3]A complaint of unfair dismissal has also been presented but it is not clear whether the Tribunal has jurisdiction to consider that complaint, as the claimant had less than two year’s service.[4]Rule 28 allows the Tribunal to strike out a complaint where it has no reasonable prospects of success.[5]The complaint of unfair dismissal shall be dismissed unless the Tribunal receives written representations, within three weeks of the date on which this judgment is[6]If written representations are received, the Tribunal may either permit that complaint to proceed or, at the remedy hearing, decide whether it should be permitted to do so.
