JUDGMENT
[1]The complaint of unauthorised deductions from wages is well-founded. The respondent made an unauthorised deduction from the claimant's wages falling due in May and June 2023[2]The respondent shall pay the claimant £4,183.34, which is the gross sum deducted. The claimant is responsible for the payment of any tax or National Insurance due on this sum.[3]The respondent shall pay a further sum of £334.66 under section 24(2) Employment Rights Act 1996 to reflect the interest charged to the Claimant using credit and loan facilities to cover the shortfall in wages. This sum is not subject to tax or national insurance.[4]The total sum due to the Claimant from the Respondent is £4,518.
