JUDGMENT
The judgment of the Employment Tribunal is that the claimant’s complaint seeking a redundancy payment succeeds and that the respondent shall pay to the claimant the sum of £6092.30REASONS
[1]A copy of the claim form setting out the claimant`s complaint was sent to the respondent on 21 April 2020.[2]In accordance with the terms of Rule 16 of the Rules to be found in Schedule 1 a response was presented. The respondent indicated that no part of the claim was contested.[3]The Employment Judge decided that on the available material a determination could properly be made without a hearing as to the liability of the respondent for the claim.[4]On the basis of the available material the Employment Judge decided he could properly determine remedy as follows:- The claimant’s employment with the respondents ended due to redundancy. The claimant is awarded a redundancy payment of £6,092.30, being 16.5 weeks’ pay. This is the amount calculated as being due to the respondent on the basis of the following at date of termination of his employment – his age (58), his length of service (11 years) and his gross weekly pay (£369.23)[5]The final hearing scheduled for 15 July is cancelled, the claim having been determined in this Judgment
