JUDGMENT

[1]The respondent made unauthorised deductions from wages by failing to pay the full amount of wages due to the claimant for the month of April 2021 and is ordered to pay the claimant the sum of £580.00 being the gross sum deducted.[2]The respondent made an unauthorised deduction from the claimant’s wages by deducting £500.00 to cover its own costs in April 2021 and is ordered to pay the claimant the sum of £500.00.[3]The respondent was in breach of contract by dismissing the claimant without notice on 25 April 2021 and is ordered to pay the claimant damages equivalent to one week’s gross pay, namely the sum of £580.30.[4]The claimant’s claim of unlawful deductions relating to the alleged loss of his tools fails.
