JUDGMENT

[1]The claimant satisfies the definition of redundancy pursuant to s.139 of the Employment Rights Act 1996, namely the requirements of the respondent’s business for employees to carryout work of a particular type have ceased or diminished or are expected to cease or diminish.[2]The respondent is therefore ordered to pay a redundancy payment as the claimant has been dismissed by reason of redundancy pursuant to s.135 of the Employment Rights Act 1996 and the respondent is ordered to pay £8,751.96 redundancy payment.
