JUDGMENT
The Respondent is ordered to pay to the Claimant the sum of £1,104.REASONS
[1]The Claimant was summarily dismissed. He claims that he should have been given notice and so claims two weeks’ pay.[2]The Respondent filed an appearance to the claim form stating that it did not wish to defend the claim.[3]In that response the Respondent accepted that the Claimant was paid £2,292 a month. Multiplying that figure by 12 gives an annual salary of £28,704. Dividing that sum by 52 and multiplying the result by 2 gives the sum of £1,104.[4]Accordingly, I order the Respondent to pay to the Claimant that sum.[5]It will be for the Claimant to account to HMRC for income tax on that amount. It is an award of the Tribunal for breach of contract so national insurance is not payable on it.
