JUDGMENT

[1]By a Judgment dated 13 November 2023, the respondent’s response to the claimant’s claim of sex discrimination was struck out and Judgement was entered in favour of the claimant under Rule 21.[2]The respondent shall pay the claimant £5,000.00 for injury to feelings.[3]The respondent will pay the claimant interest at 8% from 7 September 2022 to 3 June 2024 – a period of 635 days – calculated as £5,000.00 divided by 100 = £50.00 x 8 = £400.00 per annum interest. £400.00 divided by 365 = £1.10 per day interest. £1.10 multiplied by 635 days is £698.50.[4]The respondent shall pay the claimant £1337.00 in respect of one month’s wages (net).[5]The respondent will pay the claimant interest at 8% from 7 September 2022 to Case Number: 2602162/2022 21 July 2023 (the halfway point between the act of discrimination and the date that the Tribunal calculates losses: 3 June 2024) – a period of 318 days – calculated as £1,337.00 divided by 100 = £13.37 x 8 = £106.96 per annum interest. £106.96 divided by 365 = £0.29 per day interest. £0.29 multiplied by 318 days is £92.22.[6]The total payable by the respondent to the claimant is £5,000.00 plus £698.50 plus £1337.00 plus £92.22 = £7,127.72.
