Employment Tribunals Rules of Procedure 2013 – Rule 21[1]The claimant was unfairly dismissed. The respondent is ordered to pay the claimant compensation in the sum of £1,158.23 made up of the following:-a. A basic award of £552.94b. A compensatory award of £500 (reflecting loss of statutory rights)c. An increase of 10% under s.207A of the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992 of £105.29 The Employment Protection (Recoupment of Benefits) Regulations 1996 do not apply.[2]The respondent subjected the claimant to disability discrimination. The respondent is ordered to pay compensation assessed in the further sum of £13,998.66 made up of the following: -a. An award for injury to feelings in the sum of £8,000b. Compensation for financial loss in the sum of £4,446.70 (of which £552.94 represents past financial loss)c. An increase of 10% under s.207A of the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992 of £1,244.67d. Interest under the Employment Tribunals (Interest on Awards in Discrimination Cases) Regulations 1996 on past pecuniary loss of £608.23 at 8% from the midpoint of the period of 12/2/2020 to 14/7/2020 (77 days) of £10.26e. Interest under the Employment Tribunals (Interest on Awards in Discrimination Cases) Regulations 1996 on non-pecuniary compensation of £8800) at 8% throughout the period of 12/2/2020 to 14/7/2020 (154 days) of £297.03[6]The hearing listed on 18 August 2020 is cancelled.
