JUDGMENT

Employment Tribunals Rules of Procedure 2013 – Rule 21[1]The claim was issued in the [Region] Employment Tribunals on [date]. The respondent has failed to present a valid response on time. The Employment Judge has decided that a determination can properly be made of the claim, or part of it, in accordance with rule 21 of the Rules of Procedure.[2]The complaint of unauthorised deductions from wages is well-founded. The respondent made an unauthorised deduction from the claimant's wages by failing to pay wages for the month of July 2023.[3]The respondent shall pay the claimant £2,400 (which is the gross sum deducted), subject to any deductions the respondent is required by law to make and pay to HMRC in respect of income tax or national insurance referable to that sum.[4]The hearing listed on 16 November 2023 is cancelled.
