JUDGMENT
ON LIABILITY AND REMEDY The judgment of the Tribunal is that:[1]The claim of age discrimination was ill founded and dismissed.[2]The claim of unfair dismissal was well founded. The claimant was unfairly dismissed by the respondent. The respondent is ordered to pay to the claimant a basic award of £1,995, past losses of £6,600 plus 15% uplift for failure to comply with the ACAS procedures, £653.[3]In breach of contract the respondent failed to pay the claimant notice pay on dismissal. Compensation is awarded to the claimant in the sum of £1,368.[4]On the effective date of termination, the claimant had accrued untaken unpaid leave. The respondent is ordered to pay compensation in the sum of £1,289.[5]The claimant was directly discriminated against on the grounds of his religious beliefs. He is awarded £8,800 plus thirteen months of interest at 8% (£762) by way of injury to feelings.[6]In summary and in total the respondent is ordered to compensate the claimant in the sum of £21,467.00.
