Mr M A Ali v Ramboll UK Ltd and others: 2302207/2018
REASONS
[1]This Preliminary Hearing was listed, principally, to consider the claimant’s application to postpone the hearing listed for 20 April 2020 and thereafter because it falls in Ramadan. There were a number of other incidental matters. Case number 2302207/2018 2[2]The claimant explained what was involved for him during Ramadan. He will be fasting and his water intake is limited. This would impact his capacity to conduct the hearing. In the light of this explanation, the respondent did not seriously oppose the application and the Tribunal granted it.[3]A new date for the hearing was fixed and, after discussion, there was agreement about the variation of the original case management orders as to date.[4]There were no other matters which required to be addressed at this hearing. ____________________ Employment Judge Truscott QC Date: 29 January 2020 Case Number: 2302207/2018 1 THE EMPLOYMENT TRIBUNAL BETWEEN Claimant and Respondent Mr M A Ali 1) Ramboll UK Limited 2) Ms S Rosa 3) Mr N Sansbury 4) Mr S Zaman Held at London South (By CVP Video) On 21, 22 and 25 - 28 January 2021 BEFORE: Employment Judge Siddall Ms N Christofi Ms G Mitchell Representation For the Claimant: In person For the Respondents: Mr J England[1]the claims for direct race discrimination, direct religious discrimination, harassment because of religion and race and Case Number: 2302207/2018 2 victimisation against all four respondents are not well founded and they are dismissed.[2]It is declared that the First Respondent made unlawful deductions from the salary of the Claimant and he is awarded the sum of £2000 gross.
