JUDGMENT
[1]The claimant is entitled to a statutory redundancy payment of £1,104, which equates to two weeks’ gross pay. (This is based on 3 years’ service, two of which were completed before the age of 22 and so attract a payment of half a week’s pay each, and one week above the age of 22, which attracts a payment of one further week’s pay.)[2]The claimant is entitled to compensation for breach of contract in respect of her notice period (3 weeks) in the sum of £1,656. This sum is to be paid to the claimant without deduction of tax and national insurance. The claimant is responsible for accounting to HMRC for the tax and national insurance due on this sum.[3]The total sum which the respondent is liable to pay to the claimant is therefore £2,760
