JUDGMENT

The Respondent must pay the Claimant £9000 (for arrears and notice pay) by 4/11/2020.

REASONS

I heard evidence on oath from the Claimant and read the ET1.The Claimant was employed as a junior personal trainer at the rate of £2000 per month. He was not paid for March, April, May, and June 2020. On 23 June 2020 he was dismissed. He was entitled to one month’s paid notice from 23/6/2020 or payment in lieu under his contract, but was given neither. He is entitled to 4.5 x £2000 = £9000 in respect of the period 1/3/2020 to 19/7/2020. This judgment is based on gross pay and must be paid as such, with the Claimant on receipt to account to HMRC for any tax which may be due. NOTE The hearing took place over CVP. From a technical perspective, there were no difficulties. The participants were told that is was an offence to record the proceedings. J S Burns
