JUDGMENT
It is the judgment of this tribunal that the claimant’s complaint that there was an unauthorised deduction from her wages is well-founded. This means the respondent has made an unlawful deduction from the claimant’s wages in contravention of section 13 of the Employment Rights Act 1996 and is ordered to pay the claimant the net sum of £832.03 for the wages unlawfully deducted and to account to HMRC for any tax and NI due. The tribunal further orders the respondent pursuant to section 24(2) of the Employment Rights Act 1996 to pay the claimant the sum of £24 as a compensation for a financial loss (bank overdraft charges) sustained by the claimant as a result of the unlawful deduction from her wages made by the respondent. The tribunal does not have jurisdiction to award compensation for other financial losses and costs claimed by the claimant. Case Number: 2201459/2020
