JUDGMENT
[1]The respondent was in breach of contract by dismissing the claimant without the one week’s notice imported into his contract by s.86 of the Employment Rights Act 1996. The respondent is ordered to pay to the claimant the gross sum of £1,666.67, being damages for breach of contract. This sum is subject to applicable deductions for tax and employee national insurance contributions.[2]The respondent made an unauthorised deduction from the claimant's wages in respect of his salary for the pay period 1 to 30 September 2022 and is ordered to pay to the claimant the gross sum of £5,833.33, in respect of the amount unlawfully deducted. This sum is subject to applicable deductions for tax and employee national insurance contributions.
