She was summarily dismissed in circumstances where she was entitled to notice to bring her contract of employment to an end.[2]The respondent shall pay to the claimant a redundancy payment in the sum of £3,510.00. As at the effective date of termination of the contract of employment the claimant was 66 years of age and had worked for the respondent for 40 years. Her gross salary was £117.00.[3]The respondent shall pay to the claimant the sum of £1,256.64 as compensation for wrongful dismissal. The claimant was entitled to 12 weeks’ notice to bring her contract of employment to an end. Her net weekly pay was £104.72.
