JUDGMENT

Employment Tribunals Rules of Procedure 2013 – Rule 21 Introduction: the claimant asserts entitlement to a statutory redundancy payment, unfair dismissal and age discrimination in relation to the failure to pay his redundancy payment. A response has been submitted; the claims are not defended. The information on the file is sufficient for me to give Judgment as follows:[1]The claimant is entitled to a statutory redundancy payment and the respondent shall pay to him the gross sum of £9342.[2]The reason for the termination of the employment was redundancy; the unfair dismissal complaint is well founded. I make no further awards in this respect.[3]The complaint of age discrimination is well founded and the respondent shall pay to the claimant the sum of £1000 in respect of the injury to his feelings arising from treatment in respect of payment of a redundancy payment.[4]The hearing listed on 22 September 2020 is cancelled and the proceedings are at an end.
