JUDGMENT

THE TIME for presenting a response having expired and no valid response having been presented, and on the basis of the information before the Employment Judge, having heard from Mr Chaudhry today:[1]The claimant’s complaints of direct race discrimination, harassment related to race and victimisation succeed.[2]The Tribunal makes the following awards: Injury to feelings: Arising from harassment (fuck off paki muslim, and locking on site): £4000 Arising from victimisation (laptop complaint): £4000 Arising from direct discrimination (provision of work): £8000 Interest on Injury to Feelings (8% for 10 months): £1065.60 Loss of earnings: £7767.16 Interest on lost earnings (8% for 8months) £ 414.25 TOTAL AWARD £25 247.01 The claimant had full remission from fees.[4]The claimant’s application for a preparation time order (his costs) does not succeed. Case No: 1800061/2017[1]The Tribunal’s Default Judgment sent to the parties on 19 June 2017 is revoked.[2]Time is extended for the presentation of the respondent’s response until today, 4 September 2017, and the respondent’s draft response presented on 26 July 2017 shall stand as its response to these claims.[3]The respondent shall pay to the claimant the sum of £370 (ten hours at £37) by way of preparation time order in respect of his thrown away costs.
