JUDGMENT
[1]The claimant was dismissed by reason of redundancy on 23 August 2019.[2]He is therefore entitled to a statutory redundancy payment of £1,575 calculated at:• 2 years x 1½ (over 41yrs of age); multiplied by• £525[3]In breach of contract, the respondent failed to give the claimant notice of the termination of his employment or make a payment in lieu thereof. The respondent is therefore ordered to pay the claimant damages in the sum of 2 weeks’ net pay calculated at 2 x £611.72 i.e. £1,223.44. The total amount the respondent must pay to the claimant is therefore £2,798.44.
