JUDGMENT
Employment Tribunals Rules of Procedure 2013 – Rule 21[1]The respondent has made unauthorised deductions from the claimant's wages in respect of 17 days in the period 1st – 23rd October 2019 and is ordered to pay the claimant the gross of £1,702.65, subject to the usual statutory deductions.[2]The claimant’s claim for damages for distress caused to him is dismissed, because the tribunal does not have jurisdiction to deal with such a claim related to deductions from wages.[3]The claimant’s claim for compensation for any financial loss sustained by him which is attributable to the respondent’s deductions from his wages is dismissed in the absence of evidence that interest was charged and paid in respect of the loans referred to by him in his submissions to the tribunal.
