JUDGMENT OF THE EMPLOYMENT TRIBUNAL HELD AT Exeter (In Chambers) ON 14 August 2017 THE TIME FOR PRESENTING A RESPONSE HAVING EXPIRED AND NO VALID RESPONSE HAVING BEEN PRESENTED JUDGMENT FOR REMEDY UNDER RULE 21 1. The respondent is ordered to pay the claimant the sum of £4,394.00 as compensation for unfair dismissal; and 2. This compensation is calculated as follows: a basic award of £570 (2 x 1.5 x £190.00), and a compensatory award of £3,824.00, being 36 weeks net loss from dismissal to 14 August 2017 of £6,696.00 less alternative earnings of £3,172.00, and an award of £300.00 for loss of statutory rights; and 3. The Employment Protection (Recoupment of Jobseeker’s Allowance and Income Support) Regulations 1996 (“the Recoupment Regulations”) do not apply in this case.
