JUDGMENT
[1]Upon the joint application of the parties, and by consent, I order there to be a split trial with the issue of liability only being determined first.[2]The claimant’s claim for unfair dismissal is well-founded, and succeeds. I declare that the claimant was unfairly dismissed. Any award of compensation shall be reduced by 30% because of contributory conduct by the claimant.[3]The claimant’s claim for damages for breach of contract over the respondent’s failure to give notice or make a payment in lieu of notice is well-founded, and succeeds. I order the respondent to pay damages for breach of contract to the claimant.[4]The remedy hearing will take place on 30 May 2018 in Birmingham, commencing at 10am. The parties shall arrive no later than 9.45am. It has a time estimate of 1 day and will be before me.
